Vocabulary BINGO

Vocabulary BINGO is hands-down the favorite ESL activity in my beginner level ESL class. I get so many requests for BINGO you would think I’m running a geriatric facility.

I think one reason for my Vocabulary BINGO’S popularity is that everyone can do it, even a new student who has no or very limited English. Anyone can win. It puts everyone on a level playing field. It’s fun, engaging, easy to learn, and enhances vocabulary development. What more could one ask?

As I write this, Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away. This makes me happy because it means that on February 14th, we will be playing Valentine Vocabulary BINGO. My students look forward to holidays as they know we will most likely be playing a Holiday Vocabulary BINGO game. And anytime I feel my students need a brain break, I break out Verb Vocabulary BINGO, Classroom Vocabulary BINGO, or anything else from my BINGO Bundle.

It’s gotten to the point where my students clamor to be the “card caller.” In this capacity, students say the vocabulary words as they display the call cards. This is great for improving pronunciation.

All of my BINGO Games come in print or Google Drive format. Click on the links and take a peek at the previews to find out more.
