Fall - My Second Favorite Season

It’s fall here in the Northeast part of the United States. Yes, I know some of you call it autumn. But in these parts, we call it fall.

Spring is my favorite season, but fall comes in a close second. I love the changing colors, the chill mornings, and listening to the cacophonous honking of geese migrating.

My favorite holiday happens to be in the fall. Halloween is my favorite holiday because it is purely for fun. There is no family pressure on Halloween. I don’t have to cook anything. I don’t have to buy gifts. I don’t even have to make phone calls! Pure bliss.

Since I really enjoy the warm and fuzzy feeling Halloween gives me, I tend to create too many resources around the holiday. It’s only one day, but I just really like creating resources with images of bats, pumpkins, haunted houses, witches, goblins, monsters - you get the picture! Student engagement is a side benefit.

I do have one tradition on Halloween. Every year on Halloween day I break out Halloween BINGO. Students love it. I give Halloween candy to the winners (and non-winners). All in all, it’s a joyous day.
